What we expect
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the national Certificate of Recognition (COR) program in Ontario, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee updates to the Health & Safety Management System, including COR standards and document control.
- Act as technical lead for internal and external audits, coordinating documentation and audit activities.
- Manage compliance on pre-qualification platforms (e.g., ISN, SafeContractor, ComplyWorks).Oversee subcontractor compliance through ISN and collaborate with the Purchasing Department.
- Liaise with WCBs and Safety Teams across Canada.
- Provide guidance on project bid requirements and ongoing customer compliance.
- Manage occupational health and safety claims, including complex cases with third-party providers.
- Serve as primary contact for the national Health & Safety inbox, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Support the national Health & Safety program in collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update health and safety policies to ensure legislative compliance and annual reviews.
- Support implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Safety Program initiatives.
- Administer and maintain the Safety Management System.
- Lead participation in WSIB Safety Group/Safety Excellence programs.
- Coordinate translation of safety documents with third-party providers.
- Develop and deliver training on various health and safety topics to promote awareness and compliance.
Who we are looking for
Role Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Certification as an NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) or NCSA (National Safety Compliance Administrator) is considered an asset.
- Certified COR Internal auditor certification is considered an asset.
- Experience with Pre-Qualification websites is considered an asset.
- Experience with using Microsoft and PowerBI
- Experience in claims management is required, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Bilingual in French and English is considered a strong asset.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly (approximately 15%).
